Rescued!

So many times throughout our lives, we find ourselves in a mess. I know there have been way too many times I myself have wound up in the trenches of stress, mess, and worry over things I should have never ventured into. How about you?

The Bible says that God looks down from heaven and sees every one of us, “the whole human race,” (Psalm 33:13). Therefore, He already knows the things we get ourselves into. But, it also says He observes all who live on the earth (vs. 14), and He made our hearts, so he understands everything about us (vs.15).

Can you believe it? God understands us!

What really excites me is, God not only sees us, and understands us, He also rescues us!

“But the LORD watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his unfailing love. He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine.” ~Psalm 33:18-19 (NLT)

We should never worry or stress over the issues in our lives, when we look at these promises from God. He has always got our backs. He is always there. He always watches and He knows everything about us.

Perhaps one of my favorite passages comes from Psalm 34, which again proves that the LORD rescues us. However, it also promises that when we pray to Him, He answers us. This passage is full of promises of what He does for us.

“The LORD hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. The righteous person faces many troubles, but the LORD comes to the rescue each time.” ~Psalm 34:17-19 (NLT – emphasis is mine)

How reassuring!

I would encourage you to read all of Psalm 34 and circle every word which describes what the LORD does for us. Words such as rescues, protects, and defends. But don’t stop there. Look for words that pinpoint the things He looks for in us. Words like listen, fear, call, praise, tell. Because when we begin to praise the LORD and trust Him, He promises that He will be near to us, hear us, and rescue us.

It’s so comforting to know He really does see us. He really does know everything about us. The Bible is full of things like this. He knows the number of hairs on our head (Matthew 10:30). He knows when we lie down to sleep and He knows when we wake up (Psalm 139:2). Have you ever wished someone really knew you and understood you? Well, God does!

I love that regardless of where I am and what I’ve done, He sees me… and when I cry out to Him, He hears me. But what I really love is that He rescues me. Every time.

Blessings to you!
