Have you always wanted to write, but you don’t know where to start? Do you feel God calling you to tell your story? Do you even have a story? Yes! You do! Everyone has a story. Do you feel your story could help, or encourage, others? Do you want to record memories to preserve for family and future generations? Do you want to preserve family recipes? Or, are you a poet who wants to learn how to collect your works into something inspiring and memorable? Maybe you feel stuck and don’t know what to do next.

Whether you want to start a blog, write poetry or devotions, or preserve family memories or recipes, Anointing the Scribes may just be your first step toward an exciting adventure.

Anointing the Scribes is a six-week class designed to help you ignite within you, the anointing to write. Not for the faint of heart – Anointing the Scribes was created not only to help you build your writing skills, but to hone in on where your writing gifts may lie dormant. We want to bring them out by practicing writing exercises, learning note-taking, building on written notes, and learning how to research (without getting distracted).

We will discuss basic writing skills, the importance of the proper use of words and spelling and why that is important as a writer. We will cover blogging and why this is helpful to the aspiring scribe. We will dig into Scripture to build on what God’s Word says about what He is calling you to write. We will also discuss learning to listen to, and follow, the Holy Spirit and to have an obedient spirit when He prompts us to take notes and to write.

For those who want to write a book, and learn what it entails, we will also cover the difference between an outline and a blueprint, why you need one, and which one will work for you.

You will also learn how to blueprint a book, what it means, what it takes, and how to put it into practice so you can write your book quicker and easier.

Our first six-week session of Anointing the Scribes will begin on Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2020, from 3:30-5:00PM at Southern Illinois Worship Center in Herrin, Illinois. You must pre-register to reserve your seat.
