Oh, My Dear, What If You Fly?
From Shelley: Hey everyone! I’m so excited to feature Stephanie Whitlock’s introductory post today! Enjoy and be encouraged!
Have you ever felt as if you were falling without wings to fly? Sometimes life puts obstacles in our way that cause us to question the next step. We walk through life never knowing what is yet to come, all while trying to keep our head above water; except, it isn’t for us to know what is yet to come. It is already written. God has written your story and He knows what comes next. He knows the number of hairs on your head and the exact number of days, hours, and seconds you have to live. Therefore, why do we worry about tomorrow, next week, or even ten years from now? Why can’t we worry about the here and now?
“Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.” Romans 8:18 (NLT)
God works everything out for our good. How do I know? He has done it for me. From the moment I was born, God knew what I was meant to do. It is my responsibility to push forward and learn what God’s plan is for me.
No one has it all together or knows the exact plan for their life. The moment you think you have it all together, the enemy throws a curve ball at you to keep you on your toes and it all changes. I have had to learn how to listen to the voice of God. It is a skill that takes time to learn and is not always easy. In fact, I am still learning.
Life happens. The enemy takes shots at you. What if I fall? What if I fly? Will I have to give up something I love? Will people judge me? Why do we question the will of God for our lives?
“But in the coming day no weapon turned against you will succeed. You will silence every voice raised up to accuse you. These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord; their vindication will come from me. I, the Lord, have spoken,” Isaiah 54:17 (NLT).
Instead of letting the negative thoughts consume you, strive to think positive. While we all have junk in our lives, God is working everything for our good. It is easy to tell others the good things, while our minds are overwhelmed with the bad. How will you live your life? Will you walk in God’s glory and will for your life? Or will you let the enemy clip your wings, causing an inability to fly?
Today, I pray you will look up and reach out to the One who’s plans are much bigger than yours. Ask for guidance. Pray for understanding. Most of all, listen with an open heart and open mind because, my dear, what if you fly?
