Having a Moses Moment

Ever had a Moses moment? It’s that moment when God tells you to do something, or go somewhere, or talk to a certain person and suddenly you get pious and say, “But Lord, who am I that You should want me to do that?” Then you begin finding all the reasons why you shouldn’t, couldn’t, or can’t do it. Or maybe why you won’t.

We say we want to be used by God yet, when the moment arises we sound like the minions from Despicable Me; “WHAA?!”

But we’re not minions. We are God’s children. We are the chosen of God. We are the righteous heirs to the Kingdom. We are the ones He has chosen for such a time as this to go out and find the rest of our siblings. We are equipped with mercy, grace, healing, and many other things, along with forgiveness, to go out and extend that to others. God has given us the authority to do say and do those things because of our faith in Jesus.

“In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well.” ~Romans 12:6a, NLT

If we don’t reach, teach, and equip others, how will they learn? How will they grow? How will they come to Him? They won’t. Then who will be at fault? Us. Because we weren’t obedient. I don’t want that kind of thing hanging over my head. I don’t want someone to fall by the wayside and it be my fault because I should have said something and didn’t.

Often times we get afraid and we say, “But God, I can’t.”
But God says, “I can.”

“So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well.” ~Romans 12:6b-7, NLT

We sometimes say, “But God, what if…?”
But God says, “I will.”

“If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously.” ~Romans 12:8a, NLT

We stamp our foot and say, “But God, I don’t.”
But God says, “I do!”

“If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly.” ~Romans 12:8b, NLT

We are a conduit for His love, His grace, His mercy, His forgiveness, His healing, His hope, and the list is endless. Our obedience can be the difference between someone coming into who they are in Christ or someone never finding the wonderful life they were meant to live.

“Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good.” ~Romans 12:9, NLT

When we step forward into what God is calling us to do, no matter what it is, we become that conduit through which God can, will, and does forgive, heal, show mercy and grace, and give hope to those who are wandering aimlessly trying to find themselves.

There is hope dear lovelies. Don’t me a minion. Be who you are; a child of the most high God! Take your Moses moment and turn it into something great for His Kingdom! Do what you’re called to do. There is no time like right now to step forward and say, “Here I am, Lord. Send me!” Then GO!
