Note: This blog post was first published in November 2012. It has been revised and resurrected for today. Enjoy!

We’ve always been told to “never say never.” Because saying, “I’ll never…” will inevitably be the very thing which we end up doing. Hence, while we usually wind up doing those things we NEVER want to do, it is not that way with God. There are many things God will, in fact, never do… no matter what:

He will Never… leave you nor forsake you.

“…For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” ~Hebrews 13:5b

He will never… stop loving you.

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” ~ Romans 8:38-39

He will never… remember your mistakes.

“…For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.” ~Jeremiah 31:34b

I have never had God remind me of something I did “back when.” Because when I asked Him to forgive me, He did, never to remember it again. When I have messed up, He has never stopped loving me, because His Word says that nothing shall separate me from the love of God (see Romans 8:38-39 above). When I have been in the deepest pit of depression, and felt all alone, He has reminded me that He is right there with me and if I’ll only ask Him, He’ll get me out of there.

I have yet to find anything that God said He would never do, in which He has gone back on His Word and done. Of course, I really haven’t looked. Because I also know He never goes back on His Word.

This is truth, we have to live daily. The more we look to HIM and who HE is the more we will be like HIM.

  • Diana & Retha; it's funny sometimes how these things just "pop" into my mind. I was thinking I'd "never" think of an N word for the post! LoL!

    A brilliant reminder! Thank you.

Terrific post! I love the Heb. 13 verses in the Amplified Bible. Thank you for reminding me God will NEVER fail me, forsake me, give me up, or leave me without support!
