Walking Healed
Do you know what it means to walk healed? Every day we go through life walking around declaring sickness, disease, ailments of one kind or another. But what is it like to walk healed? Is it even possible? I found that out. And not only have I been walking it, I’ve written a book about it!
For the last three years I have written about all that God has done in my life; how He healed me, how He’s teaching me, things He’s been revealing to me. For two years I wrote as the Holy Spirit gave me guidance. And on April eleventh, I sat down to do a book signing to launch my first book, Walking Healed.
Signing books…amazing feeling |
The fun thing about writing this book is that I had no idea I had written it! I’ve said many times over that most of the time I walk through life clueless. I’m just enjoying the new life God gave me since healing me. My mind is clearer, my emotions are in check, my heart is happy, my spirit is giddy, what more could I want? Oh yeah, to write a book.
Walking Healed is two years of my life since being healed of over forty years of depression, intimidation, and mental and emotional abuse. Someone asked me how long it took me to write my book. I have to laugh because there really isn’t a concise answer for that. It really took over forty years, nearly fifty.
You see, I lived it for forty-six years. Then God healed me and I began writing about it. I wrote about it for two years. Then I put it all together and began the editing and publishing process, which took another six months. This book not only has my life in it but almost literally my blood, sweat, and definitely my tears. I paid a very heavy price to get to where I am today.
I loved getting to talk with people |
Walking Healed is designed to give hope to those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, intimidation, manipulation, abuse of any kind, and whatever else they may be going through. My life is one big story of overcoming. It’s a life healed so that I could live. It’s a story of forgiveness, grace, and hope.
In that, came my message of sorts; Finding Healing and Purpose Through Forgiveness, Grace, and Hope. Something that is so simple, yet again as I walk clueless had no idea that it was becoming my message. This is what God called me to do; to bring healing to people so that they could find their purpose. They would find it through forgiveness. Forgiveness would come through Grace. And when they found Grace, they would find Hope. It all works together.
Amazed at the turnout |
Such a deep message isn’t it? Yet it’s so simple. However, I’m just now learning it with everyone who is reading the book. What could I possibly tell anyone who is suffering? What could I possibly teach them? These are the things I ponder as I’m watching people mill about, excited to celebrate with me. And I have a Moses moment in my author chair, at my author table; “Who am I that You would choose me, God?“
I immediately got a resounding answer:
“You are My daughter. You are who I’ve chosen to go out and help your sisters find the healing that you did. You can do it, with My help.”
Well of course I need His help! I can’t do any of this without Him. He is the reason I’m healed. He is the reason I’m here. He is the reason I write. And He is the reason I’ll continue. Who am I? I am God’s masterpiece, I am the head and not the tail, I am chosen, anointed, beautiful, more than a conqueror, I am who He says I am and I am HIS!
Oh but dear lovelies so are you! You are meant to be more. You are meant to rise above your circumstances. Look at what God did with me. Don’t you know He wants to do the same with you? God wants to give you your heart’s desire. Mine was to be a writer and write books. Look at where I am now. What’s your desire?
