Keep Going!

From the time of my healing (May 2012), God has had me on a journey. At first, I thought, Hey! I’m healed and that’s that! Well… no, it isn’t. Healing has been an everyday journey; one that I will continue until I step through the gates of Heaven and hear Jesus say, “Well done.”

I say that to tell someone out there, don’t quit! Don’t give up. Don’t sit idle (doing nothing) and wait. Because in the waiting, we need to be doing; working, serving, helping others, encouraging others, and building up each other. God didn’t save you for you to keep it to yourself. Neither did He heal you so you could quietly live your life and never tell another person about it, or help another person heal.

We are God’s witnesses. We are to be about our Father’s business. Jesus said to go and tell others about Him. That includes telling others what He’s done for you and what He wants to do for them. So what if it doesn’t happen the same way—as long as it happens! Jesus didn’t heal the same way each time.

But here is something else you need to know: When you tell someone your story, don’t expect everyone to accept it. Don’t expect everyone to believe it. Because you will come across many who want to correct you, challenge you, debate with you, and tell you that’s not what really happened. If they weren’t there, they don’t know. If they were there, they still don’t know. You can’t argue with someone who has had an experience with God… but many will try. You will also have many who would rather bring up your past and try to convince others that your healing isn’t real, or that they know what you’re really like.

What do you do?

Jesus told the disciples that when they went into a town, if the people wouldn’t believe them, or accept the truth about Him, they were to leave. When they left, they were to shake the dust from their feet (Matthew 10:14, Mark 6:11, Luke 9:5).

Another thing I have learned in this healing journey is that the Holy Spirit will tell me secret things—insights, warnings, instruction, and answers to things I don’t even know I need—BEFORE I need them. It would be in my best interest to listen. Holy Spirit tells us things ahead of time to help guide us, teach us, and warn us of what’s coming up. Listening and taking action are the best things we could do.

Holy Spirit will give us insight, which often comes as a “sudden thought” or idea. With that, He will sometimes send someone to say something to us that will confirm it was from Him. I’ve experienced this so many times. My most recent was, ‘Don’t let anyone silence your healing story.’

It’s so easy to get distracted, discouraged, and step back. That’s exactly what the enemy wants you to do. But Jesus wants us to keep going. Keep speaking. Keep telling your story. Keep encouraging others. Because when you do, you let the enemy know he is defeated. So be encouraged today. Keep telling your story. Keep speaking up and stepping out. Be bold. Be courageous. Keep going!
