Back in the Saddle

HEY!!

I know it has been a very long while since I’ve posted anything on this website. Shame on me. Truly. I never meant to be gone this long… but isn’t that how it goes? We never mean to fall away, yet sometimes it happens. However, since we’re here, let me bring you up to speed on what’s been going on in my world.

I somehow got hung up in social media, which is where I’ve been doing most of my posts. There is a great following there (at least in my thinking), and so I have just hung out there for the most part. But I have so missed this website, posting here and visiting. Another reason I have been absent is that I have been waiting on some much-needed updates and a facelift to this beautiful site. It has been a little over five years since this site was built and launched. I love the colors, don’t get me wrong. But sometimes, things do need to be brought up-to-date, brightened, and given a more cheery look.

I have always wanted this website, and this ministry to be happy and inviting. There is way too much turmoil, stress, and overall negativity in the world. People need a place to escape, a place they can log on and see some positivity, encouragement, and love. That’s what this website is meant for.

If you’re new here, welcome! If you’ve been before, welcome back! There are a lot of things available here and I hope you will check them out. First of all, the blog posts. I love to write! That’s probably an understatement. Nevertheless, if you would like to know more about my story and how I got started, my very first blog post is where you want to begin reading. Just a side note: I have come a very long way since that first post in 2012! But in case you would like to read it, I’ve made it easy for you. Just click here!

There are so many blog posts on this website, and not all about my healing. There are many others which are encouraging, uplifting, humorous, and adventurous! There are two ministries within the pages of this site, and three website! It’s a happening place to be! We also have an online store, where you can purchase any (or all) of the books I’ve published, as well as a few pieces of merch, which consists of tumblers, journals, and pens, along with some free resources as well! Did I mention some of the resources are FREE?

I know we are nearly halfway through 2023, but my hope for the remainder of this year is to give you periodic updates on books that are being written and when they will be coming out. I will also be organizing an Advanced Reader group, which people can enroll in (all free, of course), so you will be given advanced notice on upcoming book releases and a chance to read it first – before it is released to the public! I have done this for other author friends of mine, and I’ll tell you, it is such a fun way to support another author and help them get the word out about their books! It’s also a humbling privilege in which to be a part.

Another thing coming up is that I plan to begin transferring some of my social media posts to this site, in order to preserve them. My ulterior motive is to begin organizing them into future devotionals. Yes! More books! Of course, that takes time, and since Walking Healed Ministries currently consists of one (myself), this will take a lot of time. So, I also covet your prayers in the work before me.

On a lighter scale – I just celebrated my 40th Class Reunion, which my husband and I hosted at our place! It was a great time. I say that because I’ve been gathering info from classmates and compiling into a digital book for a keepsake. Yes, when you look at it from a writer’s point of view, I wrote another book! This one is not for sale and only available to those within my graduating class, so for those who do like to follow my publications… sorry. My husband, Don (D.A.) and I will also celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary June 18th! So it’s a double celebration for us.

As far as books are concerned, after the reunion book, I’m also working on two other books; one on marriage, the other… wait for it… my first novel! Actually, the novel is written. But I’m taking my time in revisions and editing and working with another author, who is also my friend and editor, and we are going through each other’s novels, a chapter at a time, and fine tuning our work. So this will take a little extra time. But don’t worry. Those characters of mine have not left me alone for one minute, no matter how much time I want to take away from them! LOL!

I also have a newsletter that I have neglected. It was supposed to keep people informed as to what I’m up to. If you have subscribed to it, please forgive me and please keep watching for them. They will continue when I get all my chickens in a row… well, maybe I shouldn’t use that analogy. I raise chickens, and rarely are they ever in a row!

Friends, thank you for reading thus far! If you’ve stuck with me this long, you’re my people. I appreciate and love all of you, I really do! If you follow me on social media, please help me get the word out about my website! Please, also follow it. All you have to do is scroll to the bottom of the main page; shelley@shelleywilburn.org and put in your email address. Then you’ll be notified every time I make a blog post! And if you would like to partner with Walking Healed Ministries to help me broaden the horizons and help encourage more people with resources and books, we would be blessed to have you on board this ministry. To do that, simply go to WalkingHealed.org, scroll to the bottom of the page, and you can donate there! We appreciate you so much. I say we because, Walking Healed Ministries is a legitimate not-for-profit ministry. We do have a Board of Directors, who are all very godly, trustworthy people, and who also keep me focused and pointed in the right direction! They are my Tribe! And don’t we all need that today!

Hey, thanks for sticking with me. Until next time… which hopefully won’t be so long in between, take care and keep focused on Jesus!

Shelley
